One of the most effective ways to take photos of skateboarding is the sequence shot, where you take shot after shot of the same trick rather than one still image of it. It allows the photographer to explain to the viewer more of what the trick was, sometimes one frame doesn’t do a trick justice.

Where the magic happens

So this is my desk and where I edit my photos, write blog posts, design things and beaver away at code, on the evenings and weekends. I’ve finally got it almost the way I want it in the lounge, with a bookcase of books full of inspiration and near the stereo (which was playing The Kinks when this was taken).

Photos from Latitude Festival

Over the last couple of years I’ve been fortunate enough to get photo passes for the Latitude music festival held in at Henham Estate in Suffolk.

I’ve been there in 2008 and 2009 to shoot photos for the Ipswich entertainment magazine and website, Ipswich24. I’ve managed to see some brilliant bands from just in front of the front row, even if it has been with ear-plugs and only the first three songs.

These festivals have allowed me to capture some really big names on camera and some of my most favourite photos, such as this one of Nick Cave. More of my favourites can be found below.
